I recall an excellent exercise posted on TIPS some time ago. I cannot find it anywhere in my files. The exercise involved step by step instructions for teaching students how to avoid plagiarism when they paraphrase. It has several examples of rewritten sentences that were too close to the original. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'd love to get a copy.
