Hi Bev.:  When I ran this activity I would give each
student a mask.  I would then instruct them to make
visual representations on the mask(magic marker,
paint, feathers, sequins)of the different aspects of
their personality.  Some also put things on their
masks that represented influences on their personality
development. Some other teachers allow them to put
symbols representing their interests.  When finished
each students comes up in front of class to explain
what all the symbols mean.  If there are aspects of
their personalities that they do not want to make
public they draw them on the back side of the mask.
