When I look at the "evidence", I see a single letter which reports that he has no _current_ affiliation with Embry-Riddle and therefore is neither entitled to claim affiliation with this institution nor to use its e-mail service.

I'm basically in agreement with you (as my posts should have indicated).
I might add another possibility that no one seems to have considered:
MS might in fact be a bone fide faculty member who has preferred (for reasons which should be obvious) not to post under his own name.
