The name discussion has been fun. Let me throw it to the dogs. It seems that a study published in the most recent Psychological Science demonstrates that purebred dog owners resemble their dogs. Even the news report suggests that there might be some methodological issues, so the study might be fun to read with students ( my copy of Psych Science hasn't arrived yet). The hypothesis is apparently that people who take the time to buy purebred dogs are likely to select dogs that resemble them.
