The discrepancy might be due to the fact that some are doing it without quotes around "miserable failure" and some are doing it with quotes around it. I did it without the quotes.
It could also be the result of "personalization" by Google. If you have installed the Google toolbar, and turned on (or have not turned off) some of the advanced features, Google can keep a record of sites you like to visit or that have received "high" ratings from other users. As a result, Google might be using additional information beyond just the link ranking for some of us and not others. My guess is that those of us who have not visited Michael Moore's webpage, searched for Michael Moore using google previously, etc. get the list with Bush, Carter, Moore, and Hillary when doing a normal search and not using the "lucky" button. But, those that have done those things end up with Moore listed first. I'd be curious how these four rank for those that are going to Moore's page when using the "lucky" button.
