So much has been published on this matter that it's getting hard to
remember what's been posted here and what hasn't. But there's an
article in the New York Times today (Monday, April 12th) which must
be new.

It's at:http://www.nytimes.com/2004/04/12/books/12SLAT.html
("Book's Critique of Psychology Ignites a Torrent of Criticism")

It contains more detail about the charges against Laura Slater and
the response of Slater and her supporters to them. One interesting
tidbit is that Slater has produced a print-out of an e-mail exchange
with Jerome Kagan in which he apparently approves her saying he
ducked under a desk during their interview.

The NY Times piece also says that the Daily Telegraph published an
apology on March 27th for a review which repeated some of Slater's
false stories. I found it on March 30th (speaking of accuracy!). It
said:

"Deborah Skinner Buzan
(Filed: 30/03/2004)

In a review of Opening Skinner's Box: Great Psychological Experiments
of the 20th Century (February 14) we repeated a story in the book
that BF Skinner's daughter Deborah was psychotic, had sued her father
unsuccessfully and had later shot herself. In fact Deborah Skinner
Buzan has never been psychotic, nor has she shot herself, nor sued
her father, with whom she had a close, loving relationship. We
apologise unreservedly to Ms Skinner Buzan for the distress and
embarrassment caused."
