A few weeks ago, there was a discussion on the
movie Das Experiment (the takeoff/ripoff?of the Stanford Prison Experiment). The
movie has now made it to the cable backwaters of America and is appearing this
month on the ironically named True Stories Network. If you get that
channel, you might look for it. The channel description of it reads as follows:
"See what happens to young people forced to act as prison guards for two
weeks."
Also, the BBC has introduced a new reality/gameshow
called Without Prejudice (BBCAMERICA Sundays at 8) The premise is that you
should (as the panel) go beyond your own prejudices and decide which poor
contestant gets a 20,000 pound makeover. The episode I saw featured a mohawked,
multi-tatooed, studded/pierced and pierced tongued young man. As I said
bizarre.... Wonder how long it will be before we have our own version of
it?
