All this talk about animals and their reflections reminds me of my childhood--we 
always had a parakeet around and we always put a mirror in the bird's cage. The bird 
did NOT think the reflection was of himself but of an equally attractive female bird 
(yes, I know I am using conjecture here). We often took the mirror out of the cage 
because the bird tried to feed his partner by regurgitating seed. Understandably, my 
mom didn't like the mess. But, the bird always spent a great deal of time with his 
"partner." 
OK, I'm done indulging myself reflecting on my childhood.
