On the question of eugenics and the existing power structure, probably the strongest opposition to eugenics policies came from the Catholic church (the Catholic writer G. K Chesterton was particularly outspoken in his opposition), so we have the situation where a group not noted for its opposition to existing power structures was opposed to eugenics policies, whereas many socialists who envisaged radical changes in the structure of society were in favour.
