Very interesting. I for one did not have a land line for 2 years (and I was 30!). Reminds me of the 1936 Literary Digest poll (one can only hope :)

The "Votemaster" (person who does the website) has a very interesting point in the 3rd paragraph of todays posting (copied and pasted below). Since I teach stats, I'm planning on using this in class on Monday as a real life example of why the concept of representative samples and random sampling techniques are so important. Perhaps some of you can use it also, and/or we can discuss this further on TIPS. > -Mike > ------------------------------------------------ > Michael J. Breslin claims that pollsters do not call the 168 million cell phones in the country. Since many younger voters do not have a land line and just a cell phone, they will be hugely underrepresented in all the telephone polls. Since younger voters lean more towards the Democrats than the average voter, the polls may be greatly underestimating Kerry's strength. Between missing all the people who have only a cell phone and no land line and the 5 million overseas voters, the polls maybe missing a very large section of the electorate." > > > --- > You are currently subscribed to tips as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > --- You are currently subscribed to tips as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
