How about the obscure non-parametric "Moses Test of Extreme
Reactions" ? According to my ancient copy of Siegel's _Non-Parametric
Statistics_, it's used to test whether a condition causes more
extreme reactions (e.g. high or low) than a control condition. Given
that Yom Kippur is just around the corner, I speculate that the test
is named to commemorate Moses' trashing of the Ten Commandments after
being ticked off by the Israelites fooling around with a golden calf,
surely an extreme reaction if there ever was one.
