TIPsters: For several years, during each semester I routinely sent out e-mails to my students containing links to news stories and features that are relevant to comparative psychology (a.k.a., animal behavior, etc.). Students started asking me if I could keep sending them similar stories after the class ended, so I decided to experiment with a small listserv for animal behavior stories. For over two years now, I've been running this as a news list; a year ago, I asked my colleague and fellow TIPster Ed Pollak of West Chester University to become the co-moderator.
Anybody who is interested can send an e-mail to the address below and be added to the list: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Anyone on the list welcome to suggest stories, but we don't promise comprehensive or even daily coverage. Readers are stuck with our biases: Ed and I send things if we think they are interesting, but there's no question that my perceptual system is biased to most easily pick up animal cognition stories and Ed is drawn to reproductive behavior and sociobiology stories. Although it may not be an everyday thing, we'll send things as often as we find something and have time to send them; if there are multiple stories in a day, we try to arrange that they be collected into a single message. We welcome subscriptions from TIPsters and their students, for a week, a semester, or for the indefinite future. Michael Renner ------------------------------------------------- Michael J.
