The Department of Behavioral Sciences at Scottsdale Community College is looking for a full-time psychology instructor to teach a variety of courses to a diverse student population. The successful candidate will (a) make use of traditional and innovative teaching methods to facilitate student learning, (b) collaborate with other faculty in the development of new and existing courses, and (c) participate in division, college, and district committees.
The desired experience for this position is: (1) a Master's degree or higher attained in a Department of Psychology; (2) significant teaching experience in which one has had primary responsibility for teaching at least two different psychology courses; (3) a specialization in Social Psychology; (4) the ability to teach Psychology of Gender Differences (PSY 235), Introduction to Statistics (PSY 230), and Research Methods (PSY 290AB) The minimum qualifications for this position are: (1) a master's degree in psychology; or a master's in any teaching field with 24 upper division and/or graduate semester hours in psychology; or a master's in any teaching field with 18 graduate semester hours in psychology; (2) EDU 250--Overview of the Community Colleges--or equivalent must be completed within two years of the date of hire.
