The Department of Psychology at the University of Arkansas invites
applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor
beginning August 2005 in the area of Clinical psychology. The successful
applicant will be expected to conduct high quality, programmatic research
that is competitive for extramural funding. Specific area of scholarship is
open, but we prefer candidates whose research complements current program
emphases in the study of interpersonal violence, anxiety disorders, and
preventative interventions for high-risk children. We especially encourage
applications from researchers who study underrepresented populations. The
position involves both graduate and undergraduate instruction. Applicants
must have a Ph.D. from an APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Program.
Research and training in clinical psychology at the University of Arkansas
is supported by a major endowment to the Department of Psychology and by
graduate fellowships from the $300 million Walton Foundation Endowment. The
Fayetteville area is nestled in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains and
offers a temperate climate, beautiful scenery, numerous recreational and
cultural opportunities, excellent schools, and a nationally recognized and
