I am happy to post the following announcement:

First Biennial SRCD Developmental Science Teaching Institute
Co-sponsored by the National Institute on the Teaching of Psychology
(NITOP)
http://www.srcd.org/nitop.html

To be held April 6-7, 2005 Atlanta, GA

Institute Overview:

Teaching developmental courses encompasses the need for a wide variety of
materials, and demands that teachers incorporate multiple methods and
perspectives into an often fast-paced course. The First SRCD Biennial
Developmental Science Teaching Institute is designed for teachers of
developmental courses at all levels who wish to develop strategies for
engaging students, to explore new ideas, to update their knowledge base,
and to share ideas and perspectives with like-minded professionals. To
accomplish these goals and encompass broad areas of interest for beginning
or advanced teachers of developmental science, the Institute will be
spread over two half-days, providing two plenaries, a variety of
workshops, poster sessions, and opportunities for interaction in order to
share ideas among participants. The diverse presentation formats will
allow occasions for informal exchange and enable participants to select an
agenda that meets their professional development needs. To achieve this
atmosphere, participation is limited to 225 attendees accepted on a
first-come, first served basis.
