Hi all,

I'm trying to track down a reference for study that investigated the kinds of things people worry about and are hopeful about on the first day of class.  The conclusion was that although faculty and students thought the other group were concerned about very different things, both groups actually were thinking about the same things (e.g., will I like the people in the class, will we all get along, will I do well, etc.).

I thought I had read about it in one of Robert Boices's books (or perhaps Teaching Tips by McKeachie), but I can't seem to find it at all.

Does the study sound familiar to anyone?

Thanks,

Tony
