Professor Flew has published a short response to the rumors about him that are circulating on the internet (and in my local paper). This does seem to put a fork in it!
I will happily conclude that Prof. Flew's cognitive abilities are still impressive.
In brief, his point is that current physics can reasonably provide support for the the belief in God, given that you already make that assumption.
However, *it does not provide support for the assumption itself* -- just strengthens an existing assumption.
