Paul,

The Animal Behavior Society operates a newsletter, but their publication cycle
isn't always precise; without lots of lead time, there's a chance the ad will
appear after the deadline. To submit an item, send to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I'd recommend talking to colleagues in the areas from which you want candidates
and getting proactive about posting the ad to every relevant listserve. For
animal psych -- comparative, cognition, all varieties -- two of the best
targeted groups may be ABS Net ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and the International
Society for Comparative Psychology's list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). If you're not a
member of this list, send it to the list moderator (Mauricio Papini at TCU,
[EMAIL PROTECTED]) and he can post it for you.

Good luck,
Michael Renner

We're going to be advertising an opening next year, for the following
year, and I'd like to make sure that we increase our chances of getting
good applicants (ideally women and people of color). Does anyone have any
advice on how soon to begin advertising? Or on where to advertise?
We'll definitely advertise in the Chronicle of Higher Education, the
Observer and the Monitor, but perhaps there are other sites worth
advertising in. (One of the strengths we're looking for is in Animal
Behavior/Comparative Psych/Animal Cognition.)
Thanks!
Paul Norris
