In his TIPS post of 12 May 2005 09:37:20-0400 titled "Re: Measuring Teaching Performance,' psychologist Gery Peterson responded to my post [Hake (2005a)] as follows:

"But I guess such psych teaching lists . . . [PsychTeacher, TIPS, TeachingEdPsych] . . . are useful for propaganda purposes? As someone who has helped those in the natural sciences struggle with assessment, I am always interested in such claims. I am open to learning of advances in this area. I would love some specifics, some empirical evidence, and examples of the precision Hake alludes to. I am sure such lists might generate useful discussion if Hake is interested in more than proselytizing and rhetoric."

I am delighted to find a psychologist who is "open to learning in this area." I have lamented the provincialism of educational researchers in Sect. II. "The Insularity Of Educational Research" in "Design-Based Research: A Primer for Physics Education Researchers" [Hake (2005b)].

As a start Gery and others might take the time to scan the references [Hake (2004a; 2005b,c)] given in my previous post [Hake (2005a)], all of which are only a click away at the URL's indicated. Still more information is available at the websites given under my signature.
