The (unfortunate?) difference between the general public and Washington's Legislators (including Bush) is that the later group gets to make policy. Now, I hope there are more differences than simply that, but I find it scary that they are likely as ignorant on issues of mass destruction (oops sorry, I meant issues of massive importance... it's just that I'm so used to the rhetoric now, it simply comes to mind so easily!) as most people, and yet they make the rules.

Ok, so to bring this back to psychology, the US propaganda is fabulous, as it ties in to the availability heuristic concept. The more people are exposed to "alerts" and "danger" talk, the more likely they are to believe Bush must protect them (might explain his re-election...) Hard to believe that in 2005, such propaganda is going on... Not unlike what was going on in Germany pre-WWII (ok, I'm likely to get some reactions on this one, but hey... I'm only talking about the process, not he contents).

Cheers!

OK, remember back sometime during the winter I asked Tipsters to answer the question
"What is a stem cell?" Although everyone's responses were in the vicinity, some
individuals were uncertain. And when I asked about from where and when are they
harvested, respondants were even more uncertain. It's my belief that most of the general
public, many of the legislators in Washington, as well as conservative extremists have no
clue. (I'm pretty sure I've been redundant in that last sentence). I assume Bush is as
ignorant about this topic as he is about many others. If a bunch of Ph.D.s was uncertain,
then I'm willing to bet that a gaggle of politicians is even moreso.

Wait, is a "stem cell" the thing that has a NUCULUS?

I wonder if Bush really know what a stem cell is? (sorry, but I couldn;t
