This time it's the estimable _Scientific American_. that dares to speak its name. W. Wayt Gibbs has an article in the current issue (May 23, 2005, available on-line at http://tinyurl.com/9gjzq), titled "Obesity: an Overblown Epidemic?". Subhead: "A growing number of dissenting researchers accuse government and medical authorities--as well as the media--of misleading the public about the health consequences of rising body weights".
