It's getting more respectable to challenge the claim of an obesity epidemic and
the
health hazards said to be associated with it.

This time it's the estimable _Scientific American_. that dares to speak its
name. W.
Wayt Gibbs has an article in the current issue (May 23, 2005, available on-line
at
http://tinyurl.com/9gjzq), titled "Obesity: an Overblown Epidemic?".

Subhead: "A growing number of dissenting researchers accuse government and
medical authorities--as well as the media--of misleading the public about the
health
consequences of rising body weights".

Don't forget to check out the sidebars.
