Mark- Sorry- I thought I did. Our major to faculty ration is 29:1. Albertson College of Idaho (It is SUPPOSED to be 15 to one or LESS!). In spite of that and that we are three times the next largest science ratio some of our faculty wanted to say that it wasn't really that bad. WE are also supposed to have 14 advisees (on the average). We have 34, 62, and 22 for the three respectively (the one with 22 advisees has a half-time appointment to faculty and half to administration). Hope that helps. :) Tim Shearon, ACI

I do appreaciate the other advice I received, but only one list member actually provided a ratio. Emory University 15:1 Mark > -----Original Message----- > From: Mark S. Among other reasons, we think our primary justification is the high ratio of psychology majors to FT faculty in our program. We currently have 220 majors and 5 full-time faculty, a ratio of 44:1. We have no part-time faculty. I'm interested in knowing what the ratio is at your intitutions. Is 44:1 typical? Is it highly unusual? Just where do we stand in comparison to other medium-sized institutiuons (~ 7500 students)? Do you know of any other data sets (e.g., APA) where such information might be obtained? I'll be glad to share the responses I get with everyone on the list. Thanks in advance.
