Jean-Marc,  I think you are on the right track.  Keep the issue an emphasis on 
values of reason and education that the institution should be modelling.  
Respectfully, express the importance of evidence based practices, careful 
reasoning guidelines of the sort we would expect our students to acquire.  You 
might express these in campus newsletters and other forums.  The aim is not to 
appear strident and closed-minded, but rather whether such practices are (as 
Paul and  others have said) the best use of resources, and whether the 
university and its units is modelling the kind of education mission the 
community has a right to expect.  Just some more thoughts.... Gary
