TIPsters: This is my once-per-semester reminder of an available resource for faculty and students who are interested in animal behavior. For almost four years, my colleague and fellow TIPster Ed Pollak (of West Chester University) and I have run a listserv for links to news stories and features that are relevant to comparative psychology (a.k.a., animal behavior, etc.). It started out with former students, and has gradually grown to nearly 300 subscribers.
Anybody who is interested can send an e-mail to the subscription address below and be added to the list: ComparativePsychNews- [EMAIL PROTECTED] (unsubscribing is just as easy). Anyone on the list is welcome to suggest stories, but we don't promise comprehensive or even daily coverage. Readers are stuck with our biases: Ed and I post things if we think they are interesting, but there's no question that my antennae are tuned to most easily pick up animal cognition stories and Ed is drawn to reproductive behavior and sociobiology stories. Although it may not be an everyday thing, we'll send things as often as we find something and have time to send them. My new job is turning out to be pretty demanding -- duh! -- so we're also interested in hearing from other comparative psychologists (especially TIPsters) who might be interested in becoming co- moderators of the list. Contact me directly for this. We welcome subscriptions from TIPsters and their students, for a week, a semester, or for the indefinite future.
