Thank you to all of you who either comiserated with me, tried to make me feel better, or offered suggestions. Tim S., your response was a very thoughtful one, thank you. The irony of this is that my dissertation and doctoral research were in the area of cognitive neuroscience (with a focus on memory). I will try many of the suggestions that listmembers offered and perhaps not be so self-critical (which would indeed interfere with remembering). And I will also remember Jeffry Ricker's post, which made me laugh out loud (see below).
