I am interested in the support that graduate students receive from their departments. Specifically I am interested in any formal support that graduate students receive beyond direct training in the classroom and from their mentors. Do any of you have a faculty member in your department who is responsible for supporting graduate students (e.g., such as support in their teaching efforts, in their efforts to find funding or employment following graduate school, or even support within the department when there is a conflict between graduate students and faculty). If you do have someone within your department who plays such a role I would really appreciate it if could you tell me how large both your faculty and graduate programs are and describe exactly what responsibilities this person holds. I would be happy to compile the information and provide it to the list if anyone else is interested. Thank you in advance. Best wishes, Laura
