Beth, ain’t that the truth.  Of course, that means we have to assume responsibility for our thoughts, feelings, deed.  We can’t surrender ourselves to blaming others:  students, colleagues, administrators, policies, the system, society, etc.

I’m giving the opening plenary address at the Lilly-South conference in February.  I’m calling it:  “It Begins With Me.”  It’s theme is, in the words of Pogo:  “We have met the enemy, and he is me.”  We are what we teach; we are our perceptions; we are the questions we ask; we are the answers we accept; we are what we think and feel.
