 Christopher Green:
It sounds to me like you misunderstand the theory. There are no
"incredible coincidences" at all. Given billions upon billions of years,
even extremely rare events can be expected to occur once or twice.

How many events do you consider not rare?

So many things had to go right just to get a planet, and then a planet
that can sustain life -- the distance from the sun, the rotation, etc.

And then somehow to get intelligent life.

Remember, the definition of _improbable_ is that sooner or later it _must_ happen.
This is consistent with the observation that it _did_ happen.
The alternative is invoking the supernatural, which by definition is beyond logic and proof.
