I don't know if it would be good to show introductory psychology students this site.  For example:
 
What is psychology?  "The science of the mind."  (Modern definitions might say a little more, or less.)
"HUMAN behaviour is the raw data of psychology."  (Psychologists apparently have no interest in animal behavior.)
"Although we cannot observe the mind directly, everything we do, think, feel and say is determined by the functioning of the mind."  (So the mind is a separate entity that determines our behavior, rather than a construction that we use to more easily talk about behavior."
