Many thnaks to Stephen for pointing out where the info was located. I hadn't looked that far down on the page and assumed that the story was in the archives. And thanks to Martin Bourgeois for the link to Mahoney's obituary in the Newport Daily News. It is interesting that Mahoney apparently died on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 (the cause is unidentified). There is one sentence in the obit that I find puzzling: |Michael was also a Current National Champion Olympic Weight Lifter. I admit to ignorance about Olympic titles and such but am I correct in interpreting the above statement as saying that Mahoney was a champion weight lifter at the time of his death? At 60 years of age?
