If you aren't familiar with GenPets, take a look at:

http://www.genpets.com/index.php
http://www.genpets.com/features.php
http://www.genpets.com/catalogue.php

Even better, give your class an assignment requiring
them to examine the website and

(1) provide a description of the website and what
is its apparent goals are, and

(2) would anyone be interested in joining the GenPet's
reseller program (the manual for the program is available
at the 3rd URL above; page 16 provides a detailed
description of the "product").

If they still didn't get it, one could direct the student
to the following:

http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/weblog/comments/4198/
(however, read the comment section to see how much work
is still needed to be done in order to get some people to have
even some semblance of critical analytic ability).

Those Canadians are sure crafty folks! ;-)
