Dear Colleagues, Below are URLs of the proposed resolution that is going to be addressed by the Council of Representative of APA at the upcoming Convention and the accompanying justification statement. The resolution is mentioned in the Salon article but specifics are not provided. http://www.webster.edu/peacepsychology/HistoricalDocuments/Div48ResolutionFinal.pdf http://www.webster.edu/peacepsychology/HistoricalDocuments/Div48ResJustStatFinal.pdf This resolution was crafted by individuals within Division 48 (Society for the Study of Peace, Conflict, and Violence: Peace Psychology Division - http://www.peacepsych.org) and has been reviewed by several committees or other divisions within the APA. These reviews and feedback resulted in amendments/changes that have strengthened the resolution. Of course, Council may decide to approve or not approve or send it back to committee for revision. Feedback thus far has been largely supportive. Nonetheless, it is important that Council be provided the opportunity to carefully review (they have been discussing it and offering friendly amendments via listserv already) and discuss this proposed resolution. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about the proposed resolution or the justification statement. Best wishes and I hope to see all of you this week in New Orleans!
