I did explain in my original e-mail why historical quotes are more interesting than current ones, but I don't feel like looking it up again. (I have a cold.)

And the interesting thing about the Nostradamus quote is that he didn't write it.

Didn't ignore it as much as missed it. OK, the important point about the
quote for you is not that it's from Goering, but that it was said in 1947
yet applies to 2006. It could have come from Erasmus B. Dragon for all
you care.

Similarly, the important thing about the quote

Come the millennium, month 12
In the home of greatest power
The village idiot will come forth
To be acclaimed the leader.

is that it was said in 1654, not that it was said by Nostradamus.

Good point and I concede it, even if I still don't like taking advice
from Goering.
