This is a very interesting discussion. My wife came home last night with an electric piano for our daughter (it was given to us by a friend). She then began to tell me about "the study that just came out, on how music helps children's intellectual development" (I think she heard about it on CBC news)...
Indeed, it may be too late to stop the wave, as Stephen was saying in an earlier post... Another interesting observation is about how quickly people become "tired" to hear about how correlation cannot/should not be taken as causation. I am usually quick to point it out to friends and relatives, but it seems that it is having a lesser effect as time goes by. I wonder why they are becoming less sensitive to the argument, rather than more sophisticated to it (which is the end purpose, after all...). Has anyone noticed such a trend? Cheers!
