Assistant Professor of Psychology


Frostburg State University department of Psychology is seeking a tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology position in adult Clinical or Counseling Psychology to coordinate its nationally accredited (MPAC) Master of Science Program in Counseling Psychology. This position is available August 2007. Salary commensurate with experience. The coordinator responsibilities of this position are rotated among Master of Science in Counseling faculty members.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Administrative duties, teaching, mentoring and supervising students, involvement in program development, and graduate school governance activities. It is expected that the program coordinator will continue teaching in their area(s) of specialization. The typical faculty teaching load is 12 credit hours. The coordinator will receive a course release (3 credit hours) to administer the program and will instruct one section of graduate internship class per semester.

The MS program emphasizes evidence-based treatment and the Psychology Department is dedicated to teaching psychology as a science.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program including an APA-approved predoctoral internship, graduate clinical supervision experience, and previous administrative experience. Applicants must be license-eligible in the state of Maryland.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience in addictions, research methods, and counseling skill development is preferred.
