Hi Jim, I have the same question. I'm thinking of showing the first installment in its entirety, because I do think it's the best way to introduce the people and for students to get a feel for 7-year olds' development. Then I'm thinking of showing clips from the series for the adolescence and early adulthood sections of the course, and finally coming back to the full installment for the 42 Up (I don't have the 49 Up installment).
My concern is with 'translation'. I'm not sure how to get students to understand the British educational system, slang, etc. Personally, I found the first two installments a bit rough to understand, maybe because of the recording quality. I have the videos and ready to go, but not sure how to proceed with them. I believe it was Kelly Spellman who sent an e-mail to TIPS last year saying that the show is incredible.
