Hi everyone,

I apologize for the vagueness, but it's early still. I sat in on an
interesting lecture 5 years ago at Western Psych where a neuroscientist from
Stanford
showed some evidence for something I'd been suspecting for awhile - reading is
HARD. It's different from the learning of language in immediate channels that
the human brain comes to so easily (speech/sign). It requires a more
coordinated effort between brain areas.

You can't learn language after age 12 (for all intents and purposes). If you
know language, you can learn to read ANYTIME in your life. There's got to be
something to this.

I also have had my suspicions about dyslexia because of this.
