_Time_ magazine has an extensive spread on the brain now available at
its website, including an essay by Steven Pinker on "The mystery of
consciousness", two videos on a brain-injured woman's recovery of speech
after 17 years of silence, and more.

Pretty good stuff, even if it takes the obligatory mythic nods to Freud
("the Easy Problem...the one that Freud made famous, the difference
between conscious and unconscious thoughts") and to Pavlov ( with "dogs
and dinner bells...drooling at the sound of a bell")

It's called "The brain: A user's guide".(Well, some of us use it)
