The map at: http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2007/03/03/us/20070304_CIVIL_GRAPHIC.html indicates that some of the reddest and bluest states (Washington, California, Arizona, Texas, Nebraska, Kansas, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Florida, South Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Hampshire) have such laws with the possibility that New York will be next.
