The electro-shock therapy was not the issue.  Eagleton had himself admitted 
three times for "exhaustion and fatigue" and said that sometimes he pushed 
himself too far.  That raised questions of whether he was up for the "push" of 
being VP.

The real damage came from McGovern's 1000% remark, which gave Tricky Dick the 
election.
