Sadly, history of medicine shows that discoverers of medicine did not become filthy rich. I know why: They worked hard, and discovered genuine diseases and their causes. Obviously it only works with false diseases and their false treatments. While talking about disease and treatment: there is evidence that large numbers of unnecessary surgeries are done, especially on rich patients - and especially in poorer societies. That kind of thing has not succeeded in destroying my trust in the goodness of human nature, but it has severely been shaking it.
