Desmond Morris "The Human Animal" I think is the title. Student's love it. Run about 45 minutes. Amazing internal views. Presented from an evolutionary approach. Surprisingly the focus is on "Pair Bonding." (I bought mine from the learning channel.) Multicultural. Europe, China, India come to mind. An amazing ending. If you want more information write me off-line.
There was a series on PBS called "What Sex Am I." An eye-opener for youthful students who are into rigid labels for sexuality identity. The effects of advertising in Jill Killbourne's "Still Killing Us Softly." Now in it's 3rd edition. For STD's I introduce "Herpes: The prevasice Disease" It does a good job of showing and explaining herpes but there is a segment in carature format that describes the working parts if the imune system. I use that segment as an introduction into HIV-AIDS (the next chapter) to demonstrtae why HIV is so difficult to inoculate against. And then a collection of unused birth control devices is always a hit. Formerly publishers would make "kits" available but they dont seem to do that anymore. Perhaps you can get the office to buy some of the more interesting ones. It would be humerous to find a report of an administrator wanting to know why the department is buying this stuff. Maybe I should request a resupply myself. Many of the devices dry-out and get brittle. R.J. Sternberg's love triangle questionnaire is usually a sensation as is Bem's Androgyny questionnaire. Hope that helps. -----Original Message----- From: Traci Giuliano [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tue 3/27/2007 9:39 AM To: Teaching in the Psychological Sciences (TIPS) Subject: [tips] human sexuality: videos, exercises Does anyone have any "must see" recommendations for videos for a human sexuality class? If you have any excellent demonstrations or activities to recommend, I'd love to hear about those as well.
