Jim G Yes and I did not find Myers argument on this compelling either. Moral behavior is complex. It doesn't all boil down to charitiable activities. Volunteer work and charity are good things to do. Maybe folks who are religious are more likely to engage in these things. Maybe not. And even if it is so, I am fairly sure that doesn't make them more likely to exhibit all moral behaviors, or consistently moral behavior, than non-religious folks. Or be less likely to misbehave than them, either.
