Tipsters-
I apologize for anyone offended by this but it is equal "jest" from
faculty and students and we have all made such sentences as the faculty
one below. A student brought by a syllabus from a sister institution
yesterday. (Simple check for transferring credit- as dept chair I get to
do those). Under ADA instructions, the following sentence appeared that
I thought was ambiguious enough to be notable:

"Students needing help with evacuation should notify the teacher as
early as possible." Yes. I'd hope so!

Now I often forget how deeply into the west our little campus is. Then
something like my students being a day late because they were fighting a
forest fire will occur. But this sentence on an email is a first (about
the kindest thing I could say about it).

"Professor, I just wanted to let you know that I will note be at class
today as I have to go down to Bruneau to help a friend brand cows."

I'm still shaking my head (and laughing out loud).
