I thought it was an interesting review and the book does sound interesting 
Mike.   I am not sure if you mean a canon reflecting a basic core set of 
findings/principles, or a set of key books?  I can't help but think of canon 
law and my catechism when the word is mentioned.  Then dogmatism seems also to 
come readily to mind.  Given the diverse professional and ideological 
perspectives in psych, and the lack of theory that could integrate different 
levels of analysis, I don't think we could establish consensus on either.  I'd
