Dave,

May be a good idea to send one or two faculty to this conference. The one
Sue and I attended several years ago was very good.

Subject: [tips] Teaching of Psychology Conference Announcement

Beginnings & Endings: Best Practices for Introducing and Bringing Closure to
the Undergraduate Major in Psychology
October 12-13, 2007
Crowne Plaza Atlanta-Perimeter NW Hotel
The Society for the Teaching of Psychology (STP, Division 2 of APA), the
Society for the History of Psychology (Division 26 of APA), the National
Institute on the Teaching of Psychology (NITOP), and the Kennesaw State
University Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) are excited
to announce the 6th conference in the popular "Best Practices in Teaching
Psychology" series, which started in 2002.
The 2007 conference will focus on innovative and effective strategies both
on ways we start off majors (e.g., the introductory course, a careers
course, psychology-specific orientation program) and on how we bring closure
to the major (e.g., a specially designed capstone course or experience; a
senior seminar; a history and systems course; research or applied
internships/practicum). Modeled after the format of the previous
conferences, the conference will include keynote speakers, concurrent
symposia and workshops, and poster sessions. Our target audience includes
teachers from high school, 2-year and 4-year college/university settings.
