I believe that there are many members of Division 6 APA who would argue that comparative is alive and well. We have a person in our medium sized department who is very active in comparative studies--and this is not unusual. Many schools that are "large enough" to have a smattering of individuals across all the major subareas of psych have a comparative person. Usually these are the people who teach biopsych.
