Questions about Theories of Consciousness
Hi all, I began teaching an evening class on the Psychology of Consciousness last week and have a question. In the book I am using it mentions Representational Theories. The two theories are the "higher-order perception theory" and the "higher-order thought theory". Are both of these theories occurring in a state of consciousness or a state of unconsciousness and then entering a state of consciousness? Also, this may sound somewhat silly, but what are "first order states"? Thank you for any help you can provide, Nina Dr. Nina L.
