Hi

If it is truly scholarship, then there is no need for a redefinition. If it is
not truly scholarship, then no amount of re-labeling will turn it into
scholarship.

Take care
Jim

Hello Rob

this is cut and paste from ISoTL listserv that may be helpful and worth joing
if it is new to you:

I am planning of submitting a formal proposal at my university for the creation
of a university-wide SoTL initiative. Part of that proposal will be about the
need for SoTL to be officially recognized/rewarded in the faculty reward system
(annual reviews, promotion, tenure, awards, salary, etc).

If SoTL is officially accepted as research at your college or university, and
is rewarded as such, please let me know (and I suspect people on this listserv
would also be interested in hearing what you have to say).

Thank you.

Alan
