Here are my thoughts on what happened. It might have been due to demand characteristics. With all of those animals, I suspected that an animal was in the test display. There were at least the beginnings of a bird and a giraffe in there! A horse? Couldn't see it. Maybe it was the rider that caused a problem.
Or, maybe I should see a counselor about this.
